  About Bruce Johnson Pottery

I have made my living as a potter for over 25 years and still very passionate about what I do.  My ceramic pieces are both wheel-thrown and hand built, and fired at approximately 2,350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Their surfaces are rich with ash, clay, metal oxides and other natural materials. They are functional as well as decorative, food-safe, and can be used in the oven and microwave.  They are dishwasher-safe but, unfortunately, not unbreakable.

My vision for this work is simple:  to create pieces with beauty and depth that can be used at table on a daily basis, or set up to be viewed either indoors or out. Most of all, to create something that some day may be found at the bottom of the ocean thousands of years from now, with form and elegance still intact.
